Education is the foundation of our community. It shapes not only our children’s future, but the future of our neighbourhoods, our workforce, and the kind of city we build together.

For families in Wards 11 & 12, education isn’t just something that happens inside a classroom—it’s part of our everyday lives. It’s in the conversations at the dinner table, the walk to school, the friendships our children build, and the support they receive when they need it most.

As a parent with children in our local schools, I see firsthand how much education impacts confidence, safety, and opportunity. When students feel supported, they succeed. When communication is strong between families and schools, problems get solved faster. And when we work together as a community, our schools become stronger for everyone.

But we also know there are gaps.

Many families are feeling unheard. Concerns about safety, communication, and accountability are not always being addressed clearly or consistently. Policies may exist, but how they are carried out—and how families are supported through challenges—can make all the difference.

That’s why this conversation matters.

Education isn’t just the responsibility of schools or the board—it’s something we all have a role in. Parents, educators, and community members all bring valuable perspectives that should be part of the discussion.

As someone who lives, works, and raises a family here, I believe in creating space for those voices to be heard. Real progress starts with honest conversations—listening to concerns, sharing experiences, and working toward practical solutions that put students first.

This campaign is not just about one person or one position. It’s about building a stronger connection between families and the school system, and making sure every student feels supported, safe, and set up to succeed.
